Dr. Daniel Huczala of the Robotics & Automation Laboratory (advised by Prof. Frank C. Park) has received Best Paper Awards at two international robotics conferences.
“Computer-Aided Design of Rational Motions for 4R and 6R Spatial Mechanism Synthesis” won the Best Paper Award at the 20th International Symposium on Advances in Robot Kinematics (ARK 2026).
“Bird-Inspired Spatial Flapping Wing Mechanism via Coupled Linkages with Single Actuator” won the Best Conference Paper Award at the 2026 23rd International Conference on Ubiquitous Robots (UR 2026), proposing a bird-like spatial flapping wing mechanism driven by a single actuator through coupled linkages.
