As robots develop in both physical and intelligent capabilities, they will be asked to take on increasingly more complex and dangerous tasks in unstructured and highly uncertain environments. These challenges require both new ways of thinking about how to design, plan, and control robots, in a way that is robust to uncertainties and noise inherent in the robot's environment.
This workshop brings together robotics researchers from Tohoku University and Seoul National University to share their past research experiences and their ideas about how to confront the challenges that lie ahead.
This workshop is sponsored jointly by the SNU Institute for Advanced Machinery and Design, SNU BK21 Program for Next Generation Mechanical and Aerospace Systems, Tohoku University Center of Robotics for Extreme and Uncertain Robotics, Tohoku University International Research Institute of Disaster Science, and the International Rescue System Institute.
